 Mud-in-your-eye

I ask Team Zinger if I could interview him for a spot on our web page but as luck would have it i pick a shy person. So I will tell you what I have found out about him in the short little time I have cached with him.

My first run in with him was a few years back at Lake Wapello at a Hillfolk event; I was heading back to the car as the monkey trio (lagrac, sqeamish and team zinger) was booking it from cache to cache around the lake. I made a quick call to the better half and told her and jstrout to pick up the pace because they were about a half mile behind them. As luck would have it when the guys caught up to the ladies they did not want to be to rude so they slowed their game play down long enough to make 10 finds as a joint adventure and when the trail divided, they went on their way. Not once did Team Zinger say anything, just a real quite kind of guy (Like he was the brains of the outfit). The next time we ran in to him was at MOGA 2011 at Rend Lake. Now this time we had heard he was part of a duo.  When the monkey talked him into a boat ride, using His (Team Zingers) SUV I heard the water was up to the floor boards as the monkey yelled don’t Stop. Now I did see the pictures and this one was true! When we caught up to them, it was right after supper and Jstrout had been awarded the 12pack she earned , when the monkey was up to his own monkey business as I sat next to team zinger by the fire place as everyone around us was laughing so hard, Zinger just peeked over his glasses with a simple little lip jester and back to what he was doing on his PC. I then asked Zinger is he (lagrac) always like this and he said he has his moments and that was the end of the conversation. After the phoon we ended up back at Zingers cabin and I got him to open up as I give them a slide show of all the neat caches and troubles we had encountered during our 1st year of caching. And then I asked him what keep him going, he said”have you ever done any of Iowa Toms caches” I said “we had found one” he told me he had done them all “Wow no way” “yep” and if you know how hard these cache are to figure and find you know that zinger is on a major league player. Now I have seen Team Zinger at many events but he is a quite soft spoken and very well mannered and respected by all of the old time cachers.  We ended up going out with him after the Wood Pecker Picnic Event. We headed out to pick up a very special cache, this happened to be a monumental day for our fellow cacher, Team zinger, it was his 5000th find. Which leads me to my conclusion! So no matter what kind of cacher you are and how many you find or how long you have been at this sport. Let me assure you, He is a good husband, a great father and an Admirable Caching friend.

Congratulations Jeff on your 5,000 finds!
