Iowa Geocachers Organization (IGO)

What is IGO?

The IGO and its members are always looking for ways to serve Iowa and the communities that we live and/or work in. Sponsoring CITO’s, organizing events and educating the public are just a few ways that we make an important contribution.

How to Become a Member?

  • Membership is free.

  • Get the latest information on activities of the IGO.

  • Iowa residency is not required to be a member.

  • Out of state members can petition for voting rights (COTM, People's Choice, board member vote, etc.). If you live out of state, please click HERE to complete the petition for voting rights.

  • There are 2 steps to becoming a member of the Iowa Geocachers Organization:

    • 1 - Click HERE to become a member and be added to the IGO email listserv (you can opt out of the listserv at anytime).​

    • 2 - Click HERE to create your account on this website.​​

IGO Supporting Membership

A $10.00 annual online contribution to the IGO buys you "Supporting Member" status in the organization. As an SM you'll get special benefits including: an entry in our monthly "Prize Vault" drawing, advance notice of special events and promotions, SM recognition on your avatar or in an SM honor roll, and more.  Most importantly, you get the warm, fuzzy feelings that come from supporting the organization that works so hard to further geocaching in Iowa!  Please note, this in no way is considered dues.  Membership in IGO is and has always been free.

Perks of Supporting Membership

  1. Milestone Awards​​

    • ​​​​​Certificate and pin awarded at 100, 250, and 500 finds

    • Certificate and coin awarded at 1K, 5K, 10K and each 5K thereafter

    • Must be a Supporting Member at time of milestone achievement

    • Must be requested via the Milestone Nomination Form

      • Can be requested by award winner or friend of award winner​

    • Milestones achieved between March 16 thru August 15 must be nominated by August 31 and will be presented at the annual Hike-N-Seek Event​

    • Milestones achieved between August 16 thru March 15 must be nominated by March 31 and will be presented at the annual People's Choice Awards Event

    • One pin/coin per Supporting Member per 12 month period, can earn multiple certificates if multiple milestones are achieved

    • Can be requested by the award winner or friend of award winner

  2. Entry into monthly “Prize Vault” drawing during monthly board meetings​​

    • Limit one win per Supporting Member per rolling 12 month period​

  3. Advance notice of “special” events
