4. How did you learn about Geocaching?
We had a neighbor that gave a geocaching demonstration and we caught the bug from there.
5. What is your favorite part of Geocaching?
Getting outside, sharing adventures with each other and other geocachers, discovering new and interesting places. Yes we know you said one but in reality it's a combination of things that make it all happen. Seeking the hides, finding or not finding the locations. logging and posting a note which may or not embellish what happened with maybe a hint of exaggeration. And of course Ice cream at the end of the day.
6. What types of caches do you enjoy most?
If we had to pick a favorite it might be Virtual Caches. Because of the interesting locations and history that associates with most of them.
7. What is the favorite cache you’ve found?
Of course our very first cache and this one: Top O- Day by the late Ogolook. It has been archived now and had received 46 favorites. Believe it was IGO's cache of the month at one time. We had found that one on Mrs Catz birthday. Here is the log from that find. Wow. As it was Mrs. Catz birthday and we were in this area to celebrate and thought a little geo-caching would be in order. We had no idea it would be such an ordeal. Finding the cache wasn’t that difficult but signing the log was a different manner. As I was standing confronting this dilemma and pondering what to do next I realized that the flashlight I was holding in my mouth (yes it had gotten dark by now) was freezing to my lips. As the ice from the trees was falling around me and a coyote was howling not far away. I decided to retreat to the cache mobile where I might add sat Mrs. Catz. After explaining the situation she said place a life line to the owner. Of course my pride said no but finally I took her words of wisdom to heart. After a short visit with the owner and creator of this ingenious cache I found I was on the right track but would have to subject myself to do things that no man should ever have to be expected to do. Knowing what I had to do I talked Mrs Catz into going back with me through the snow in her dress shoes and helping with the deed. She did mention that this is one Birthday she wasn’t about to forget. Definitely a new twist on Geocaching and a lot of fun. We hope we didn’t give away any spoilers, if you need clues you will not get it from us and will have to contact the owner. We highly recommend this cache and will defiantly make it a favorite. TFTC Thanks for the special Geo-coin very cool coin of the month Those who have had the fun of finding it will know what we are talking about.
8. Outside of Geocaching, what other hobbies/interests do you enjoy?
We have many interests. Before geocaching we used to do muzzle loading and participate in fur trade re-enactments attended Rendezvous, dressed in buckskins and camped in a teepee. Now that we are older we like the comfort of our tin teepee. We enjoy kayaking, photography and most activities relating to the outdoors. When the weather gets cold Mrs Catz does some quilting and I take a nap in her latest creation while dreaming up ways to terrorize our local caches with a devious hide.
